The flight operations/flight planning system for B747-400 Simulator PS1.
PS1FPLAN v1.1 removes the protection of the FPALT cell on the FLIGHT SETUP screen, and corrects a couple of typos in the STORED ROUTES database. If you have already downloaded PS1FPLAN, then all you need to do is to download the update, and remove/replace the old XLS file with the new one. If you have yet to download the program, then you need to download the full version, which contains this fix. This update also removes the installation support since a lot of people were experiencing problems with the installation program. Just let WINZIP extract the archive into the C:\PS1FPLAN directory, and you're done.
With PS1FPLAN, you will be able to generate accurate flight plans in accordance with the following US and international flight planning rules:
US FAR 121 Domestic Operations
US FAR 121 International/Overwater Operations
US FAR 121 Inflight re-release/redispatch
Island Reserve
ICAO Fuel Rules
Overwater decompression (provisions are made for up to 3 equal-time-points on the flight plan)
For registered users only,
upon request, your version can be customized with the specialized flight planning rules (international enroute reserves percentages, etc.,) for your favorite airline or home country. Details available upon request.
This program contains:
An open database containing 17500 Navaids, fixes, oceanic position reporting points, other points of latitude and longitude, that you can easily customize and update.
Over 650 preplanned Stored Routes, which represent real routes flown by major worldwide B747-400 air carriers (easily updateable)
60+ Routes designated as post-rerelease diversion routes for operations under FAR 121 (easily updateable)
An easily updateable runway database, containing data for nearly 1000 runways worldwide, including published intersection data for intersection takeoffs
A very easy-to-read flight plan format, loosely based along the lines of the American Airlines DECS system format, that contains complete fix names (no more guessing what/where NF is after a 12-hour flight!), true courses and headings, wind corrections, fuel remaining over each fix, and more! Current capacity is 75 fixes/flight plan.
A Crew Fuel Record form, prefilled when the flight plan is generated, which is an easy-to-use fuel log for those long haul flights when arrival fuel will be critical.
True Boeing B747-400/CF6-80C2B1F Aircraft Operations Manual flight planning and performance data.
Automatically interfaces with the previously released PS1ATOG, which generates a complete Weight Data Record and Takeoff Data Message, containing V-speeds and thrust settings, and the maximum weight for takeoff which is the most limiting of the following:
Maximum structural takeoff weight
Maximum takeoff weight for flaps/thrust setting, the field elevation, and the field length. (No more guessing if you are light enough for the runway and airport- just check the numbers!).
Maximum landing weight (No more guessing if you will be light enough to stop on the available landing field length - just check the numbers!)
Automatically calculates engine thrust settings for Max Thrust takeoffs, plus TO-1, TO-2, and the Assumed Temperature Method. Also calculates the maximum speeds and weights for several conditions of runway clutter, as well as Anti-Skid Inoperative, and the Optional V1 method for wet runways.
Generate your own Airport Analysis tables; tables of maximum field length weight limit, climb limit, and landing limits for any airport anywhere in the world. (All airlines publish an Operating Gross Weights Manual for the runways they go to on a regular or irregular basis, now you can too).
An easy-to-read 100-page manual, which explains all of the options of the program, and the regulations behind it. (Based on US flight planning/operations/dispatch regulations).
Programmed with highly accurate performance data, M0.86 cruise data, climb data, engine-out data, straight from the Boeing Operations Manual for a B747-400 with the PS1 (up to but not including v1.3) configuration (i.e., CF6-80C2B1F engines). M0.85, and LRC will be released later only to registered users.
Note that, at the current time, this version of PS1FPLAN is unable to generate PS1 *.ROU files, however, this functionality is planned for future releases.
NOTE
This program is licensed as shareware. That means that after a reasonable period after downloading, you must decide whether to keep it or not. This reasonable period has been defined on the license agreement as 30 days. If you decide to keep it - registration only costs $30.00USD - and will be the only thing you will ever pay with regards to it. Registering the program entitles you to free upgrades throughout the life of the program, and supplemental route revisions, customized route files, customized fuel planning versions and more - see the PS1FPLAN Software Operations Manual for details.
System and Software Requirements
MS-Excel 97 which permits encrypted files (the distributed files are locked/hidden to protect the data, structures, and algorithms) (Stop the press - I have been informed that the French have changed their laws concerning crypto, and that programs which use it may be usable in France.) Any reference to this restriction should now be ignored.
At least 8.0M free space.
All other requirements necessary to operate MS-Excel97.
The program screens are optimized for at least an 800 x 600 display, or higher resolution. 640 x 480 will work, but 800 x 600 is better to see more of the setup screens.
Any Windows compatible printer to print the flight plans.
